Rent Real EstateColumbus, Ohio Slowly Pulls Out Of Sluggish Housing, Jobs Market
Local Realtors note slow but steady improvement in the housing market of Columbus, Ohio.
"The quality of life is constantly improving in Columbus neighborhoods," says Realtor Kevin Sullivan. "The mayor"s plan is to revitalize downtown, by adding more residential developments. The near downtown is being further enhanced by the additional commercial developments such as the Short North, the Brewery District, and the latest, the Arena District. This is a good time to buy."
Agree Realtors Gina Myers and Jill Fergus, "A broad range of housing exists in this area. There"s something for everyone! Columbus is in a time of market appreciation. Most of the city is appreciating at a steady but modest rate of two to three percent per year. While this is not a dramatic rise, it is consistent. This makes real estate a good, solid investment in Columbus."
"Obviously with Columbus being the state capitol, we have urban living but additionally it recedes out, through suburban neighborhoods and communities, to rural farm land," explains Realtor Patty Good. "In central Ohio, it"s possible to own a million-dollar high-rise condo or large tracts of farm land. Virtually every type of housing in every income level from gated communities to lower income starter housing is adequately available."
Good suggests, "Columbus continues to be a growing area with jobs still being created in spite of the lackluster economy. House values continue to increase every year. New home sales are at record levels, although some slowing in this market is now being observed. Existing homes are selling at a record pace and for record prices, although the Cental Ohio market remains incredibly affordable on a national level."
