Realtors in the Liberty Lake/Spokane, Washington, area say there is so much to do outdoors, that fresh air-loving visitors and residents never want to leave. About the market, Burke says, "Spokane County is again ahead of the record-setting pace set last year for closed housing sales! Compared to the double-digit increases in January and February, the percentage increase for March "05 over March "04 has slowed somewhat. With an average selling price of $146,929 and a median selling price of $130,000, the total closed sales was 618 in March. Closed sales are up 9.2 percent for the first quarter of "05 compared to the first quarter of "04. The median closed sales price is up 9.3 percent at $129,900 with average closed sales price up 11.1 percent to $147,971. The new construction closed sales reported to the MLS are up 15.4 percent, compared to the first quarter of "04." Suggests Realtor Ryan Fuller, "The Liberty Lake market will remain hot this year. Appreciation in some areas has been as high as 10.4 percent. Many home owners and investors are cashing in on recent equity gains. It is a great time to buy and sell real estate." Spokane area "The Spokane area real estate market continues to remain strong," says Realtor Joe Garst. "Year to date, the average home price in Spokane County has increased by 11 percent over the same period last year, with home sales up nearly the same percentage.
